The story:
Mora Store was established to contribute to the collective spirit of women in the Hemşin region. The owner, Seda has always been fascinated by the hardworking and creative nature of Hemşin women, along with their love for colors. Since the 18th century, corn has been one of the most important crops in the region. It is used in various dishes, ranging from soup to bread, while the cob serves as animal feed. The women utilize the leaves to make baskets and chair seats, contributing significantly to minimizing waste and promoting sustainability practices. This makes their baskets the most eco-friendly version compared to others, thanks to their biodegradable nature. Basket weaving is a traditional craft in the region, passed down through generations. Women often incorporate traditional details into their weaving, transforming a simple agricultural byproduct into something both beautiful and useful.
